Ingredients
10-15WholePiri Piri or African Bird's Eye Chillies(adjust based on heat tolerance)
3ClovesFresh Garlic
1Small Onion(roughly chopped)
1Red Bell Pepper(seeded and roughly chopped)
1Lemon(juiced)
2TbspRed Wine Vinegar(for acidity)
2TbspOlive Oil
1TspPaprika
1TspDried Oregano
1 TspSalt(adjust to taste)
1/2TspBlack Pepper
1/2 TspSugar(optional)
1/4CupWater(adjust for consistency)
Instructions
Prepare your chillies by removing the stems.
Remove the seeds from the chillies for a milder flavor or keep them for extra heat.
Combine all the ingredients into a smooth paste in a food processor or blender.
Add water a little at a time and blend until you get the desired consistency.
Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning to your liking - add more salt, spices, or lemon juice until you're happy.
Transfer the sauce to a clean, airtight jar or bottle.
Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks - the flavors will combine and intensify.
