Delivery

We’re a small operation in Lincolnshire, England. Everything you order is packed here by hand, and we send parcels to most of the world. The one exception is the EU, which we’ve had to stop shipping to. Delivery is worked out by weight and added at checkout.

When we post your order

We do our posting once a week, usually on a Thursday. If your order lands after that week’s parcels have gone, it goes out with the next batch.

Bigger orders sometimes arrive as two or three packages. There are limits on how large a parcel can be and how much liquid can go in one box, so we split them where we have to. If part of your order turns up on its own, don’t worry, the rest is on its way.

How long delivery takes

In the UK you choose at checkout: 24 hour or 48 hour delivery, tracked or untracked. Those are Royal Mail’s aims counted from the day we post your parcel rather than the day you order, so with our weekly post it’s worth counting from the Thursday. Tracking costs a little more and is worth having if you’d like to follow the parcel along or you won’t be in when it lands.

International delivery times vary more than we’d like. Ten working days from posting is a fair average, though a lot depends on where you are and what time of year it is. Sometimes parcels fly: our record is four days to the US. Royal Mail’s own estimates for International Standard will give you a rough guide.

Customs and import charges

If you’re in the US, relevant tariffs are added to your order at checkout, so you can see exactly what it comes to before you pay.

Everywhere else, import duty, tax and any handling fee the carrier adds are set by your own country, and they’re yours to pay when the parcel arrives. We have no control over them and we don’t see a penny of it. If you’d like to know roughly what to expect before you order, the SimplyDuty import calculator will give you an idea. The commodity code for hot sauce is 21039090.

If something arrives broken

We pack glass to survive a rough trip, but every so often a bottle doesn’t make it. If your order turns up damaged, send us a photo of the bottle along with one of the box it came in, and we’ll sort it out with a replacement or a refund, whichever you’d rather have. There’s nothing to send back to us.

Do let us know as soon as you can. Those photos are what we need to claim from the carrier, and they’re a lot harder to come by once the box has gone out with the recycling.

Refused and returned parcels

Now and then a parcel finds its way back to us. Usually it’s a typo in an address, or a delivery card nobody spotted, or an order refused over an import charge. Whatever the reason, we’re happy to send it out again, though we do have to ask you to cover the postage a second time. If you’d rather not, let us know and we’ll refund the cost of the goods once they’re back with us and still in saleable condition. We can’t refund the original delivery charge.

Why we can’t ship to the EU

From 12 August 2026, EU packaging law (the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) means we’d have to register, and appoint a legal representative, in every individual EU country we send to. The cost is the same whether we post one bottle to a country in a year or a thousand. For a business our size the sums don’t come close to working, so EU destinations are closed at checkout.

We’re sorry. Plenty of you have been ordering from us for years, and we’d far rather be packing your parcels than writing this page. If a workable route opens up, we’ll update it here.

This covers the 27 EU member states, along with EU territories such as the Canary Islands, Madeira, the Azores and the French overseas departments. If you’re in the UK, or anywhere else in the world including European countries outside the EU, nothing changes for you.

Check whether your country is affected

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

Ebooks and digital downloads

Everything above is about parcels. Our ebooks and digital downloads have nothing to post, so you can buy those from anywhere in the world, the EU included. Your download arrives by email as soon as your order goes through.

Can’t find your country?

If your country isn’t on the list at checkout and it isn’t in the EU, get in touch. We’ll add it if we possibly can.
